How many brilliant technological ideas are we away from total disaster? This is a story of one possible answer. Take a walk with Phil through a savage land of manicured lawns and death dealing conveniences. Phil’s only true wish is to live long enough to have a past and some decent memories to go with it. But there are no guarantees in his world. His life hangs in the balance every moment, and death is just a few wrong steps away.  Phil has the courage to survive, but will that be enough?

This is what some of my fellow “Write to Publish” classmates are saying:

“If the prospect of going for a walk outside the safety of your home doesn’t terrify you, Barton makes sure it will. This near-future thriller is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat at all times.”  –  Alejandra Cué (author)

“Fiction at its best. A five-star rating no doubt. A reality like the one depicted here would be excruciating. Wonderful pacing. A great read.” – Selma Martin (author)

“Phil’s Good Ol’ Days is a gripping story of AI gone bad. The writing is vivid, the twist shocking, and the ending powerful. I’ll be looking for more stories from Barton K. Mann.” – Evelyn Puerto (author)

“I loved reading Barton Mann’s story, Phil’s Good Ol’ Days! He creates a unique world of man vs. technology and I found myself quickly connecting to his main character, Phil…rooting for him all the way to the end. ” – Krissy Baccaro (author)

“Are you tired of your typical apocalypse stories? Do electric scooters make you want to shake your fists? Do you want something new, fresh, and engaging? Then this story is for you.” – Kasey Anderson
